Les fondateurs

Alexandre & Trystan,
fondateurs de CAPTA

Childhood friends Alexandre and Trystan followed different paths, both in the arts and crafts, before reuniting around a shared realization: watchmaking had deeply impacted them, each in their own way.

CAPTA was not born out of a flamboyant ambition, but from a simple need: to bring a personal and fresh vision to a world that is often codified.

An adventure guided by the demands, curiosity, and respect for what makes watchmaking beautiful.

Étymologie

An almost poetic origin

The word CAPTA came to us almost as instinctively as it did poetically.

While going through the archives of ancient currency from the city of Nîmes, we came across a coin depicting a crocodile — the city's historic symbol — accompanied by the inscription CAPTA. This word referred to the animal held captive, which became an emblem of Nîmes' history.

A word steeped in history, from our region, linked to a strong local symbol… and which perfectly expressed our initial idea: to capture what defines us and reinterpret it.

CAPTA et l'horlogerie

To connect with people.

CAPTA and watchmaking are about the subtlety of inspiration, the way a shape, a memory, or a light can influence a creation without the origin being immediately visible.

Alexandre

Excellence does not need to be displayed to exist. Watchmaking creates this bridge between aesthetic object and complex mechanics. CAPTA aims to be part of this paradigm.
